What is nutritional therapy?

A naturopathic nutritional therapist uses nutrition science to identify potential imbalances in the body and understands how they may be contributing to the root cause of health conditions and symptoms.

One size certainly does not fit all!

Therefore each client is recommended a unique nutrition and lifestyle programme as their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing are taken into consideration.

Naturopathic nutritionist are trained in both naturopathic medicine and nutrition and combine the two to use a holistic approach along with using a range of diagnostic tools such as laboratory testing, physical examination, medical history investigations and diet and lifestyle analysis to understand the root causes of imbalances in the body.

How a consultation works

Discovery Call

Before you book your consultation you will be required to have a quick chat (aka Discovery Call) where Emma will listen to why you think you need nutritional support. This is a great way to meet Emma before your your initial consultation and to make sure that working together is the best option for you.

After your call, you will sent Consent Form and Terms of Engagement for to sign. Once these are complete along with payment, a food and lifestyle diary and in-depth health questionnaire will be sent and must be completed at least 48 hours before your first appointment. It is important complete these as they give Emma a thorough understanding of you and your symptoms.

Emma Deborah Ward - Online Consultation

Initial Consultation

Your first 60-9minute consultation is where Emma will review your in-depth health questionnaire with you and, together, will negotiate a realistic plan that will work for you. As food, family history and lifestyle all have a major impact on your symptoms, Emma will confidentially listen to your concerns, dig deeper into symptoms and assess what needs to be done to get you to your goals.

After this discussion, Emma will go through the first steps of your personalised plan. No plan is the same and the upmost care, attention and detail is taken into consideration to give each individual the best support. You'll also be given any further resources, supplement recommendations and testing advice (if required).

Weeks 2-5

Understandably, you may have some questions about your plan once you get going. You are not alone! Emma is available to answer any questions and for support between now and your follow-up consultation via text or email.

Follow-up Consultation

At your follow-up consultation your nutritional plan will be reassessed. Here we can make the next steps going forward on your health journey. Any test results will be interpreted and any recommended supplements will be reviewed.

Your journey doesn't have to end here!

Just as symptoms can take a long time to manifest, recovery can expectedly take time. It is unrealistic to put a time frame on this type of unique journey and further TouchPoints and follow-ups may be advised in your follow-up.
